In her role as Director, Kim Fleming’s responsibilities include the development, implementation, and assessment of strategies to support the Institute’s strategic plan. She is also responsible for researching, planning, and managing operational aspects of the institute’s programs to execute innovative approaches to strategic workforce development.
Kim joined Tulane in 2017 as an HR Business Partner, supporting key business units such as TUPD, TUMG, SPHTM and many others. She quickly gained valuable institutional knowledge and fostered positive relationships across campuses through collaboration that led to successful change management and stakeholder confidence. From 2018-2021, Kim served as the Learning and Organizational Development Manager. She has played a key role in the launching of the Professional Development Day, which brings faculty and staff together annually to connect, learn and grow their skillsets across a variety of topics from soft skills, technology in the workplace, emotional intelligence, and effective management of teams. The focus of her work has been to build a culture of learning and to identify opportunities for university leaders to develop and retain employees in support of Tulane’s strategic objectives.
Prior to her roles here at Tulane, Kim gained valuable experience working in human resources for The Ritz-Carlton Luxury Hotel Brand supporting talent management, payroll, benefits, employee relations, and training and development.
Kim earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana State University. She is a certified TULI Coach. Kim is a member of the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and Association of Talent Development (ATD). She is currently a student in the Master’s – Organizational Leadership Program at Gonzaga University and her anticipated date of graduation is May 2024.
