Biography

Shanna Harper is passionate about K-12 education, with over a decade of experience working with middle and high school students. She currently serves as the Director of Pre-College Programs at Tulane University, where she oversees the execution of summer programming for over 600 high school students. Throughout her career, Shanna has spent time as a high school science teacher in New Orleans, in program and data management for a national education nonprofit, and in K-12 program management in the higher education sector. Her dedication to STEM programming and youth development extends to her volunteer work; she is vice-chair and secretary for the board of directors of Electric Girls, a STEM education nonprofit in New Orleans, and serves on the planning committees for two local robotics competitions for K-12 students. Shanna earned her Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Biomedical Engineering and Bachelor of Arts in German from Tulane University and earned her Master of Arts in Education from Michigan State University.
