Jeannine Coxen

My career began in public health before moving into academic program leadership, and that path shaped everything about how I coach. For more than two decades, I designed and led initiatives across higher education, student affairs, and workforce development — building programs that had to work for real people under real institutional pressure. As a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and TULI graduate, I bring a dimension to coaching that most leadership coaches simply don't carry: I understand that a leader's capacity to act with clarity and confidence is inseparable from their readiness as a person.

I hold a certification from the Tulane University Leadership Institute and partner with students, early-career professionals, and mid-level leaders navigating career transitions, new roles, and the challenge of building inclusive, high-performing teams.

I coach emerging leaders and people-centered professionals to clarify their direction and move forward with purpose when they are navigating career transitions, institutional complexity, or the demands of leading others for the first time.

My coaching draws on equity-centered frameworks, design thinking, and the insight that sustainable leadership development starts with self-awareness, not strategy. I work collaboratively and ask the questions that surface what clients already know but haven't yet named. Clients have described our work as helping them "separate what I'm actually responsible for from what I've taken on unnecessarily" and "finally feel like I'm leading from my own values, not someone else's expectations."

My conviction is that effective leadership is built from the inside out. After twenty years of designing programs intended to develop people, I saw what actually works: not curriculum, but honest conversation, clear goals, and the support to act before everything is perfectly in place.

I hold a Tulane University Leadership Institute Certified Leadership Coach credential and a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor certification. My educational background spans public health and higher education leadership.

Outside of work, I find grounding in community connection and the work of showing up consistently for the people around me — a practice I bring directly into the coaching relationship.
