Biography

Dolly Anadkat, PhD is a psychologist with extensive experience in counseling and coaching medical students. She joined Tulane University School of Medicine, Office of Medical Education as a learning specialist in Nov 2022. She is originally from India and has lived in Caribbean for about 20 years.

She teaches study skills to students in various formats including classroom teaching, workshops, small group sessions, as well as individual sessions. Some of the elements of her coaching include growth mindset, sustaining motivation, effective preview & note taking, learning to organize and integrate study material, analyzing and enhancing test performance and study methods, time management and stress management strategies, managing test anxiety, prevention of burn out, as well as coaching for behavior change in reference to nutrition, exercise, and sleep.

As a life coach she is trained in positive psychology and have always focused on identifying strengths of her students and helping them to utilize those strengths to make positive change to bring about enhancement in their performance.

As a clinical hypnotherapist she brings mindfulness and visualization to support students with generalized anxiety and test anxiety. She leads weekly group sessions for mindfulness practice for medical students in Murphy building, downtown campus.
