Devi Murphy (she/her)

I am an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and a licensed psychologist in the School of Medicine. I am the chair of my department’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Steering Committee and I’ve been a member of our Diversity Committee since 2015. I have been actively working on reviewing policies and implementing changes within my department with respect to training and curricula, recruitment and retention of faculty, staff and trainees, and community engagement. As a senior faculty member and clinical provider, I believe it is especially important to have the knowledge and skills necessary to examine the racist structures that exist within our institutions and to implement anti-racist changes in policy and practice for students/trainees, clients/patients, staff, and faculty. I am a native New Orleanian with a passion for and commitment to celebrating and serving the many diverse and wonderful children and families in our city.
