Biography
Alexandra Moran is a dedicated healthcare professional with a robust background in athletic training and sports medicine. Originally from New Orleans, Alexandra's journey in healthcare began at the University of New Hampshire, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training, laying a solid foundation for her career. Eager to deepen her expertise, she pursued a Master of Science in Human and Health Performance/Sports Administration at Northwestern State University of Louisiana.
Her career path led Alexandra to K-State Athletics, Inc., where she served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer, collaborating closely with team physicians to deliver comprehensive medical care to student-athletes. This role not only sharpened her skills in injury management and rehabilitation but also solidified her commitment to athlete well-being within a competitive athletic environment.
Alexandra's passion for sports medicine brought her back to her hometown, where she joined the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine. Starting as an Assistant Athletic Trainer and progressing to Clinic Manager at Tulane Doctors Sports Medicine Plus, Alexandra played a pivotal role in enhancing patient care and operational efficiency. Her responsibilities included overseeing daily clinic operations, managing a diverse team of healthcare professionals, and ensuring adherence to healthcare regulations. Alexandra's leadership was instrumental in transforming struggling clinics into thriving centers of healthcare excellence, expanding access to care, and implementing initiatives that improved patient outcomes.
Beyond her clinical roles, Alexandra made significant contributions on a national level as the Medical Director for National Collegiate Rugby's May Madness 7’s. She managed medical coverage for over 1200 collegiate athletes, developed comprehensive injury-tracking systems, and coordinated emergency response plans across multiple playing fields.
Throughout her career, Alexandra has demonstrated exceptional skills in healthcare management, policy development, and budget oversight. Her proficiency with various healthcare software systems and her ability to cultivate collaborative relationships with external stakeholders have been instrumental in her success. Alexandra's dedication to continuous improvement and proactive healthcare leadership make her a respected figure in the field of athletic training and sports medicine.
Outside of work, Alexandra enjoys staying active, mentoring aspiring healthcare professionals, and contributing to community health initiatives. Her roots in New Orleans inspire her commitment to serving her community and advancing healthcare standards in sports medicine.
